From 2000 to 2005, newspapers across the United States saw advertising revenue decline precipitously. Daily newspaper circulation slumped 2.8 percent and Sunday circulation fell 3.4 percent during the six months that ended in September 2006, according to data from the Newspaper Association of America. Worse, in the same five year period, the budget devoted to newspaper advertising by automobile dealerships fell by more than 20 percent. Newspapers faced with this reality are losing out to Internet automotive classifieds, which are taking a larger share of ad revenue.
Dealer Fusion, established in 2000, identified the problem of declining dealership ad revenue and realized by developing an outsourcing solution, it could help the publishing industry recoup lost revenue. Dealer Fusion introduced its proprietary software, Adrenaline,™ specifically designed to repurpose data being collected from auto dealerships to work in creating and streamlining a low-cost, weekly niche publication. Using Dealer Fusion's software has allowed newspapers to devote more time to sales, distribution and billing and - along the way - boost ad revenue.
